What a little gem. This place is so much fun. You may be shy to do karaoke, however, once you're up you'll be fine, the crowd supports everyone. We did it for our Christmas dinner and lived it.
It has easily been over 15 years since I have been here! Known for their Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine with a side of karaoke! This place is old skool & just how it should be! Friendly staff & great food is all you need! Karaoke is optional & available from 8pm onwards, just ask the friendly staff! Located across from the Mater Hospital, on the second floor, a great place to grab a quick bite to take home or feed an entire family! The menu is extensive but curated, all your favourites are there & then some! Portions are decent versus price & no one will leave hungry! Plenty of validated free parking out the front or around the back. Catch any bus from the city that stops at Mater Hill bus station eg. 130, 140, 150 & then walk around the corner to the venue. Accessibility available for prams & mobility vehicles with amenities just outside that are very well kept. Just a great place for all with delicious food options that will have you coming back! Highly recommend!
I had lunch at Ben’s Vietnamese & Chinese Restaurant with a friend, and it was a great experience overall. I ordered the Mongolian lamb, and I was impressed with the portion size, flavor, and reasonable price. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the lack of pictures on the menu, which made it a bit hard to decide what to order. I had to rely on Google Maps photos to make my choice. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for a tasty meal!
Delicious traditional Vietnamese and Chinese food. Great place to entertain family and friends. Staff is friendly and helpful. Karaoke is available on Friday and Saturday evenings for guests to show off their musical talents. Bookings are strongly recommended on these evenings.
Delicious food, and capable of accomodating a lot of people(seems to have very many seats). The sweet and sour pork is a must-eat menu, and the rice noodles are a top-notch as well.
We love this place. Have been going for years with family, have brought friends and everyone always loved the food. It’s traditional Chinese Vietnamese, always fresh and tasty. We were there again today and just Yum Yum Yum! Good wholesome food that doesn’t disappoint. Portions are on the larger side so you cN either share or take home as leftovers. Have eaten here for lunch and dinner and it’s always same good quality. Definitely recommend.
Have had a couple of experiences with Ben’s Vietnamese & Chinese restaurant. This place is a very well renowned restaurant for authentic Asian cuisine in south Brisbane. The restaurant is closely located to south bank and well placed to the mater hospital! The food here is really very good. Authentic with plenty of flavour and in decent portion sizes. Reasonably priced for the size and quality, definitely need a couple of dishes if there is more then two! The restaurant itself is a little dated however they have there market and it is what it is. Pick up for take away is genuinely a nightmare and just awful with the car park. All in all not a bad place to get a feed!
I attended my friends birthday dinner and karaoke here. The food was ok with a good vegetarian selection for me. The food came out quickly. They have giant lazy susans on the table, so it makes sharing the food among the table easy. Just be sure your wine glasses don't get knocked over by a stray piece of serving cuttlery as it spins! The one downfall I found was the order of the karaoke. There was no system. You handed your song selection in via a piece of paper, and they just have a shuffled pile on the desk. A number of us put our names into the karaoke queue at the very start of the night when there was only 50% of the tables sat. My whole table put in their song before myself, yet I was the 1st of our table called. And was called super early in the night. Our birthday girl had put her song in 1st at our table and probably 4th for the night, but her name was 2nd last to be called?? It made no sense, and you could see people at their tables becoming confused and frustrated trying to do the maths of how some people were being called up multiple times and others did not get to even sing. (Yes, that's right, they ran out of time, and many people didn't even get called) The atmosphere was amazing, the room sings and dances along with you no matter how good or bad you are, which was awesome! But the karaoke needs to be better managed!! Also the parking situation is confusing and congested! So arrive early and make sure the restaurant validates your ticket, so you pay $20 instead of over $100!!! I'm not kidding. 2 hours of parking is $40 without validation, and the prices increase drastically from there!
